In the Steampunk Tarot, the Knight of Cups is a woman, and I love this choice. I haven’t worked much with this deck yet but I will. I’m slowing falling in love with the images and what’s not to love about the Knight as Female?  No need to wait for any man on any horse any day of the week. No need to rescue me, thanks. I’ve got a quest of my own.

Something about middle-age, at least for me. How I view romantic relationships has changed and I think irrevocably. I want kindness, yes. I want passion. Closeness. Intimacy. LOYALTY. Holidays. I want to share my magic. But I don’t want to save or be saved. I’m not looking for help. Hell, I AM the help.

She had three suitors, three choices. It was perfect really. A perfect Tarot experiment. There was slow steady stable Knight of Pentacles. And there was wild brave Knight of Swords. And then, you guessed it, the Idealist, the Knight of Cups. In love with Love.

Dear Readers, I kid you not. This spread actually happened!  Yes, there were other surrounding cards, but the Knights pushed their way in.

PICK ME said the Knight of Pentacles. CHOOSE ME said the Swordsy Knight. I’m the ONE that you want, sang the Knight of Cups.

Each Knight held promise for my young querent. Each held fascination for my young querent. Each had qualities she felt she lacked. Some salty, some sweet. She was ALL FIRE (in her natal chart and in the cards I pulled for her alone). No wonder we didn’t see the Knight of Wands, her mirror image. We didn’t need to.

When you see the Knight of Cups, know this:

It’s a complex card! You will have to use your intuition to figure out whether the Suitor (if the card is indeed representing a Suitor) is serious or only interested in the dream. Is he or she for real? Or merely a beautiful idea, a poem. And yes it IS possible to be both. It is possible to be both viable and dreamy but… I feel a caution comes along with this card. You won’t always know. You won’t always have the answer. But sometimes you will. Sometimes the vision is clear as a bell. That’s how it felt that day, the day she chose the Knight of Cups. I didn’t realize it at the time — that that was what she was doing. Making the choice right then and there. She fell in love with who he was: artist, poet, lover, dreamer.

Sagittarius Season is ending. Sunday is the New Moon in Capricorn, the Solstice, Yule. I love the dark days. I will miss them when they go. Did set your New Moon intentions for this final New Moon of 2014? What do you want to happen? What do you want to begin? Be in alignment with what? Imagine it. Feel it. Feel it done. Feel it yours.

The other astrology is intense as well. Wildman Uranus goes direct on Sunday. Strict Saturn enters Sagittarius on Tuesday. A week of change. A week of increased FIRE energy. And then comes Christmas. More light.

I don’t know what to tell you other than… think about what you want to keep. There is all this resolution in the air and not all of it is yours or should be yours. You can stay if you want. What does your heart say?
