This week at CCC Englewood and Aurora we began our series for Lent called Blind Spots. During this season of examination and contrition we seek to ascertain if there is anything in our life that would keep us from finishing well.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (II Tim. 4.7)
We all literally have blind spots physically (click here to find yours). We have them spiritually as well. That is, things in our life, if left unchecked, could shipwreck our faith. When we discover them and make the proper adjustments we can fix our eyes fully on Jesus. (Heb. 12.1ff)
We usually can’t see our own spiritual blind spots. This lent, consider asking a trusted follower of Christ the following question: Do you see anything in my life that would keep me from finishing well?
Scripture also allows us to observe frail people like ourselves with blind spots. Can you think of any examples that you think should be considered in this sermon series and in this series of posts?
