Nominated alongside the likes of Drake and Justin Bieber is jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding for a Grammy in the Best New Artist category. The odds are stacked against her but I’m holding out hope that this true talent and artist will rise to the top. Recently, J. Kameron Carter of the Divinity School at Duke University made his case for not only for a Grammy for Spalding but for how theologians (which in my opinion, means all of us!) have something to learn from this artist. (Read his post here)
