When I got back to my NPU office after Christmas break I had received a bundle of books from publishers who wanted me to blog about their publications. I simply can’t blog about all of them, but I’m going to try doing an occasional “book notes” to mention some of these books and see if any of you have read them and want to add your comments.
Paul Vieira, Jesus Has Left the Building (Karis, 2006). This is a manifesto for a radical emerging movement wherein the church is seen — not as a building or a gathering on Sunday — but as a group of relationships of Christians walking the way of Jesus. He offers observations of what the first churches were really like.
Ralph McCall, Bring Your Vision to Life (Destinée). I’m not into business interests, and this author is an entrepeneur expert — but I found myself wandering around wondering what a Christian theory of entrepeneurship looks like.
Gregory J. Laughery, Living Spirituality: Illuminating the Path (Destinée). Laughery worked at L’Abri, the famous setting for Francis Schaeffer’s work in the 60s and 70s, and in some ways has updated Schaeffers’ justly famous True Spirituality. This book provides a theory of the Christian life.
Any comments on any of these?
