Campbell Brown, a newscaster for CNN, says 2008 feels a lot like 1968. But Tony Jones says 2008 feels more, and looks more like 1908, and hence he, Doug Pagitt and Mark Scandrette are on the Road Show. You can follow the Road Show at the blog at Beliefnet.
Tony and the Band are wearing the clothes of the early 20th Century. They are suggesting that 2008 is more like 1908, and that they want to re-enact those days in order to create a sense that we are on the cusp of something big, something new, and something hopeful. I’m sure it will be boatloads of fun.
I’m hoping they get great turnouts at each place and I’m hoping they get plenty of interaction and conversation started about the gospel and what the church can be and what God’s kingdom work is all about.
We’d love to hear from those of you who have gone to one of The Road Shows.
