We got up Saturday morning at 4:15am for a 5am drive up to Milano from our place in Camogli. (5am Sat morning in Camogli is 10pm Friday night in Chicago time.) We had heard it would take as much as 3 hours to get there and I think we got there under 2 hours. So, we had time to spare.
The flight back was uneventful; we took a couple of naps, read some, chatted with the Italian businessman next to us, etc.. Customs was quick and easy at O’Hare and within an hour and a half we were home. Unpacked, and then I had to mow our grass. By 8:30 we crashed.
We got to see four regions of Italy this time: the Lake Como region, the mountainous Cinque Terra, the flatness of Lucca, and the hilly region of Alba.
A good week of fun and relaxation and walking, but we’re ready to get back to work now.
