There are rumors that the Pope Benedict XVI may declare a “universal indult” (permission) for local parishes to return to the 1962 Missal (Tridentine Mass)
where the mass was said in Latin, the form prior to Vatican II. The political and theological implications for such a decision would be enormous. The rumor is that it could happen today: Thursday.
