I’m so grateful that MPT is letting me have some space on his blog to share what’s going on in my little world today. I can’t give you the entire story because he charging me for blog space by the word (totally kidding) so I’m going to give you the Cliff’s Notes-esque version…

Today I’m celebrating the 35th anniversary of my adoption. I was a born into an orphanage in what used to be Saigon and was rescued to the United States as part of a massive orphan rescue days before the fall of South Vietnam. If you want the long version of the story (it’s worth a read) you can check it out here.

To celebrate my anniversary I’ve hooked up with my and MPT’s good friend Tom Davis and his organization, Children’s Hopechest for a very special cause: Caring for victims of human trafficking in Moldova. If you aren’t familiar with Children’s HopeChest, well you should be. You can learn more about how they serve orphans here.

Recently Tom and Anne Jackson traveled to Moldova to open a new partnership with local ministry’s working with young women and teens who had been victims of sex trafficking. Today we’re working together and raise the $1000 to $1,200 needed to open a group counseling room for the rescued women. The women that this counseling area will serve are currently living in a safe house with their children. Yes, their children. While working with Tom I’ve learned that the underground world of sex slavery is darker than I had ever imagined. These women we sold while pregnant (pregnancy fetish=more money).

I’m hoping that you will be moved by the important work that HopeChest is doing. And that you will me moved by the restoration that this counseling program will bring to these women and their children. I’m hoping that you will be moved enough to give. Any gift, even $5 (the cost of tomorrow morning’s grande frappa-whatever) will make a huge difference in the lives of these broken women.

If you’d like to help you can give HERE.

Any gift (even if it’s only a buck!) will also enter you to win some goodies. Check out my blog for details AFTER YOU GIVE.

Thanks for celebrating my anniversary with me. And, MPT thanks for sharing your space with me.
