I tagged this “not safe for church” because I suppose technically two of these images are of women without shirts on. I guess those are women. (I’m not trying to be rude… I really can’t tell…)

They are women, right?

…they could be dudes, I guess–well, not dudes… but male members of a pop punk band without shirts on.

I digress…

I don’t know what the artist/photographer/model was going for with these images.

Does anybody have any ideas?

Are they a direct mockery of the crucifixion?

Or could they be trying to make a statement about Christianity in some way?

I honestly don’t know. They seem to be a little too serious for satire.

They certainly are provocative.

What do you think? Do images/portrayals of the crucifixion like these offend you? Or would you consider this to be art?
