I found this clip at the blog Joe. My. God.

The voice you hear in the clip is Dr. Jim Garlow, the head pastor of Skyline Church.

According to RightWingWatch.orgJames Dobson had an all-star team of Religious Right leaders on his radio program for a two-day discussion on the importance of protecting traditional marriage, featuring Bishop Harry Jackson, Dr. Jim Garlow, Dr. Ken Hutcherson, Gary Bauer & Tony Perkins.

RWW.org went on to sayOn today’s broadcast, Garlow recounted a revelation he had while sitting in Jackson’s church in Maryland regarding the role African Americans have played in saving this nation from the “bondage and enslavement” of gay marriage.

You can listen to the entire broadcast here.

I’m hoping Dr. Garlow hears his words and offers an explanation. Or an apology. And a retraction. Because maybe I live in a shell, but every “African-American” I know was born in the US. They’re Americans first and foremost. I doubt very much that too many actual “former slaves” voted against gay marriage in California. So why does Dr. Garlow say it’s “interesting”? Surely, he isn’t somehow implying that “gay marriage” is anything like slavery…

Oh but yes… he sort of almost pretty much (not blatantly) does just that… He seems to think that “gay marriage” would put society in bondage (Uh…hmm… never mind, I’ll be goood), a similar sort of bondage that slavery exhibits.

My gosh… I do hope he says something to explain this silly statement.
