Last summer, Rick Warren surprised his congregation by announcing he was going to go preach the first-ever Christian event in reclusive and oppressive North Korea. To all criticism, Warren simply said:

“I know they’re going to use me,” Warren said, responding to a question about whether he was concerned that the invitation could be a set-up, a ruse to draw out Christians so that the government could punish them.

“So I’m going to use them.”

Now, that trip has been delayed. Warren still hopes to go – perhaps later in the year. I hope he does. It is exactly the sort of radical and revolutionary thing Jesus would have done.
