Sometimes, perhaps most of the time, our thin places will be found in the simplest of places. I know that my most intense moments of meditation and prayer with God have come in prayer in my home office or in a small park near my home. I’ll have to go snap a picture of a place where I felt God’s presence one day more than any other time in my life. It was on an old log.
At other times, those thin places are in moments never captured on film. Or, in my case, in a moment that was.
One afternoon this past summer I enticed Livvy to join me on the hammock for a new game. I called it “counting clouds.” That is what we did for precious minutes. Unbeknownst to both of us, Kim got a camera and was snapping away. What she captured was the thinnest of places.
Please keep sending me your thin places to dkuoblog@mac.com.
