Was talking to my newly-minted junior high school daughter last night about life and school and changes and such. Out of nowhere came this:

“I love middle school. I haven’t been asked to walk single file once. What a wasted skill to learn that was!”

It was said with confidence and certainty and disdain and bewilderment.

“Why did we ever have to learn that? When am I ever going to be asked to walk single-file ever again? I lost recesses over that useless skill – recesses! Ugh.”

Priceless.
