The cost of starting over spiritually is not what you pay to achieve some distant desire, but it is in your willingness to let go of — to dare to live without — any desire you may have whose promise of fulfillment drives you to search for it in yet another tomorrow.

It is sheer fantasy to think that your “tomorrow” can be any different – better or brighter than today – as long as all you do is fantasize about it. Real self-change requires the conscious sacrifice of the self whose hopes lie in things dreamed.
