Plants in nature are created to be heliotropic, which makes it possible for them to receive the greatest amount of life-giving light possible. It could be said that flowers, grasses and trees keep their “attention” on the sun for as long as they can. We on the other hand, are self-tropic. We follow our own thoughts. We give our attention to what seems to be light when it isn’t light at all. We have a choice as to what we give our attention to, and we receive the reward accordingly: if we give our attention to what is true and divine, to what is present and good, we are fed by what is good and true.
