Create Card #20 in The Conscious Living Wisdom Cards (Special Moms’ Edition)
Today I drew the Create Card.
It’s the perfect card for what I have planned today as yesterday Caidin and I went to Michael’s and bought a big bucket of air dry clay, googly eyes, paint, paper masks and plenty of drawing paper. So today is certainly going to be a day of creating. For the past few days Caidin has been making a suit of armor out of paper. He’s made them most amazing sword and sheath with arm and leg protectors. Very, very creative.
There is another aspect to the CREATE card that revolves around our divine ability to create and manifest what we need and want in our lives. We all have this ability. As adults though many of us have lost touchwith this ability because we unconsciously allow fear and control to block it. Kids tend to have it until they are told in one way or another that they don’t have it or can’t have it. Find ways to foster your child’s natural ability to create and manifest, to help them stay connected to it. Caidin’s been pretty good at manifesting.
I remember when he was about 2 years-old we went out for an early morning walk (we were still living in Brooklyn) and we went to one of the playgrounds. After 20 minutes or so, he looked at me and said, ‘I’m hungry’. I asked him what he wanted and he said ‘chicken nuggets’ (today he is a self-professed vegetarian, but at 2 he hadn’t put the ‘where meat comes from’ together with the end product yet.) So I said to him, ‘it’s not even 8 in the morning, I don’t think we are going to find chicken nuggets, but we’ll go look.’
I said we’d look more to make an effort before I took him home to get something else. We headed up the block to Court Street where many of the shops and stores were and my plan was to stop in the bakery which also had an iced self serve table that included things like salads and yes, chicken nuggets – but never at 8am. We walked in the door, Caidin ran to the table and said ‘there they are.’ And on that table the only thing that had been put out, at 8am, were the chicken nuggets. I celebrated his ability to manifest what he wants. We laughed as he sat and really enjoyed them.
So the Create card asks you to support your child in tapping into his ability to paint, draw, dance, to physically create things AND to recognize and foster not only your child’s but your ability as well to create and manifest what you need. Start to celebrate this ability and see what shows up in your life!
With that, I’ve given you both the ‘FOR YOU” and the ‘FOR YOUR CHILD” texts today.
For You
We are divinely blessed with the power to create the life we desire. We are hindered only by our own blocks and limitations. The key to creating what you desire is focusing not on outcomes, but on what you have great passion for. Creativity comes from passion and passion is an expression of our inner light. The more you place your attention on what you are passionate about, the more your higher self will present opportunities that fulfill that passion. Creativity will spiral out and open you up to more and more. Allow yourself to expand, focus on what inspires great passion in you and watch your life move in magical ways. If you feel stuck, review where you are focusing your energy and redefine your passions. It is often our ego and mind, with their need to control, that stall our forward motion.
For Your Child
Children are endless balls of creativity. From their thoughts to their actions, they love to create. Make room for both structured and free-flowing creativity in your child’s life. Baking, drawing, coloring, dancing, art projects, singing, finger painting, playing dress up and reading all fuel creativity and the imagination. Encourage your child to create, and then celebrate what she creates. If she manifests something expected or unexpected yet desired, be sure to acknowledge it and celebrate her ability to create. Include your children in the process of creating whatever your family is working toward. The more you foster the idea that they have the ability to create their hearts’ desire, the more they will incorporate this divine ability into their lives as adults.
