While Senator McCain’s comment that you referred to wasn’t the best phrase he could have selected, Michelle Obama has said she was not offended by it, and it should not divert attention away from discussion of the real issues.

 

While the economy, foreign policy, and other issues are obviously deserving of attention, that does not mean that judicial nominations should be ignored entirely. I share your disappointment that neither candidate is emphasizing the issue of nominations to the Supreme Court and other federal courts and the fact that the next president may be able to set the direction of the Supreme Court for years to come.

 

With just one debate to go on October 15th at Hofstra University, there is little time to discuss and debate this issue.
