Jeff at Mormanity happens to be visiting New Jersey, only miles from where a heroic pilot brought a crippled airliner safely down into the Hudson River. He posted comments about the event:

Avoiding bridges, buildings, cables, and boats, [the pilot] managed a safe landing under difficult circumstances. It was a hard landing, but a remarkably safe one. … There were some close calls, but all were rescued. Everybody.

With daily reports of fiscal meltdown and economic crisis, it’s nice to have a “good news” story to read about. God bless a talented and courageous pilot and crew, as well as the citizens in boats who immediately flocked to the site and quickly ferried passengers and crew, every one of them, off the sinking plane and out of the freezing water.
