Pro-life versus pro-choice has been a prevalent debate in society. The controversy mainly arises when a political candidate chooses a particular side, especially ones with religious backgrounds. President Joe Biden faced backlash from many after publicizing his pro-choice stance. One pro-life group, in particular, had some choice words to say about the politician’s position on abortion.
The American Life League is a pro-life organization with the declared goal of protecting human beings from conception to death. Founded in 1979, the organization members have always put themselves at the forefront of the abortion debate. Recently, the organization called out for the Pope to hold the President accountable for his moral choices.

“Joe Biden excommunicated himself almost 50 years ago,” stated the American Life League President. “Pope Francis needs to hold Biden accountable and demand he spends every moment he has left on this earth publicly repenting and atoning for the evil of abortion that he has empowered.” Interestingly, the organization’s leader called for Pope Frances to hold Biden accountable instead of Biden doing so himself.

“Judie Brown has served on the Pontifical Academy for Life in addition to being President of the American Life League,” Executive Director of the American Life League Jim Sedlak shared. For decades, Brown has dedicated her career to defending the unborn. The League’s President was appointed once by Pope Benedict XVI and twice by Pope Saint John Paul II. Brown also held a position in the official papal academy with the similar goal of bolstering the Roman Catholic church’s stance on protecting every baby’s life.

Judie Brown and the organization’s vice-president encouraged Pope Francis not to disparage the “Body of Christ.” They shared their concern for the Pope’s position regarding the issue.
“Sadly, we have learned that Pope Francis will not only be meeting with US President Joe Biden but could have an opportunity to choose whether or not to give the President the sacrament of Holy Communion. Such an act, if carried out, would be an abomination to faithful Catholics.” Hugh Brown, the American Life League Vice-President, boldly concluded, “Joe Biden is no more Catholic than is Lucifer.”

Having served under Pope Saint John Paul II during her time at the Pontifical Academy, Brown referred to a quote from him relating to the overall topic, “The Code of Canon Law refers to this situation of a manifest lack of proper moral disposition when it states that those who ‘obstinately persist in manifest grave sin’ are not to be admitted to Eucharistic communion.”

The American Life League concludes that if the leader of the Catholic Church doesn’t consult with Biden to correct his pro-abortion stance, Pope Francis will miss a critical chance to declare the pro-life values that are an integral part of Catholicism.

Hugh Brown recalled Joe Biden’s political career in 1972 when he was elected to national public office. When abortion was declared legal in 1973, Biden was serving as a US Senator. Six years following the legalization of the controversial act, the American Life League was founded. The league’s vice-president holds President Biden responsible for his entire political career, not just his recent role as the nation’s President.

“Joe Biden has helped usher in the culture of death and is responsible for the deaths of 65,000,000 children by abortion,” Hugh Brown declared his chilling statistic. “Denying Joe Biden, the Eucharist is not only necessary but required, as he has direct participation and responsibility for these millions of abortions.”

“Pope Francis needs to show moral courage,” Hugh Brown proclaimed, “and defend the faith Christ has entrusted to him. We hope and pray that Pope Francis heeds these words, speaks to President Biden in private, and does not insult the body of Christ by giving His precious body and blood to the most infamous pro-abortion politician in our lifetime.”
