Vice President J.D. Vance didn’t hold back in his recent remarks at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), where he addressed what he sees as a cultural war on masculinity in America. Speaking on the main stage with conservative activist Mercedes Schlapp, Vance declared that mainstream culture is working to erase gender distinctions, creating what he called “androgynous idiots.”
When Schlapp asked what message he had for young men, Vance expressed deep concern about the messages society is pushing.
“My message to young men is, don’t allow this broken culture to send you a message that you’re a bad person because you’re a man,” he said. “Because you like to tell a joke, because you like to have a beer with your friends, or because you’re competitive.”
He went on to say that mainstream culture is actively working to suppress masculinity and erase God’s design for men and women.
“We actually think God made male and female for a purpose,” Vance said. “We want you guys to thrive as young men and as young women, and we’re going to help with our public policy to make it possible to do that.”
Vance’s remarks resonate with many Christians who believe the cultural shift away from traditional gender roles is a rejection of biblical principles. As Genesis 1:27 states, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”
Vance also took the opportunity to discuss his recent speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he criticized the erosion of free speech in Europe. He argued that Western nations are silencing dissenting voices, particularly those who speak out against mass migration.
“We cannot rebuild Western civilization; we cannot rebuild the United States of America or Europe by letting millions and millions of unvetted illegal migrants come into our country,” Vance stated. “It has to stop.”
He warned that free speech is under attack, both in the U.S. and abroad, and criticized President Joe Biden’s administration for allegedly suppressing free expression.
“The Biden administration did more to destroy free speech, not just in the United States but also in Europe, than any administration in American history,” Vance claimed.
He urged European leaders to follow former President Donald Trump’s lead, emphasizing, “Follow the lead of Donald J. Trump, and that’s free speech, borders, and sovereignty.”
Throughout his CPAC appearance, Vance repeatedly tied his political positions to a broader vision of faith, family, and national strength. He stressed that societies thrive when biblical values are upheld, and he challenged young conservatives to engage in the battle for the culture.
Vance and Schlapp also touched on other key issues, including strengthening the economy, advancing the pro-life movement, and encouraging young people to be politically active.
His remarks set the tone for the annual CPAC gathering, one of the largest conservative events in the country. Leaders and activists rally around shared principles of faith, freedom, and national sovereignty.
