At just 27 years old, Karoline Leavitt has taken her place behind one of the world’s most powerful podiums—and she does it with boldness, grace, and an unshakable faith.

Don’t let her age or warm smile fool you. Leavitt, the White House Press Secretary, is a force to be reckoned with. She’s sharp, steady, and unafraid to push back when the moment calls for it. In a recent briefing, when one reporter attempted to challenge her economic knowledge, she fired back: “I think it’s insulting that you’re trying to test my knowledge of economics and the decisions that this president has made.”

So, what’s the secret behind her calm composure and sharp instincts under pressure?

For Leavitt, the answer is simple: prayer.

In an interview with CBN News, she shared that every day before facing the press, she and her team pray together. “I think that team prayer before is just a moment to be silent and still and ask God for confidence and the ability to articulate my words, knowledge, prayer, protection, and it is a nice moment to reset,” she explained. “It’s the last thing I do before I go out there, and then it just gives me the confidence to do a briefing.”

Raised in New Hampshire by hardworking, blue-collar parents, Leavitt says the values instilled in her at a young age — faith, perseverance, and discipline — have shaped her path.

“I think that the value of hard work, determination, and drive was instilled in me at a very young age, just by watching my parents work so hard to earn a living,” she said.

Her Catholic upbringing and education further grounded her, helping her navigate the political spotlight with integrity and inner strength. “My faith is incredibly important to me, I would argue, now more than ever… there’s a lot of public pressure and discussion online about who you are and your family,” she said. “It could be difficult for someone who doesn’t have faith, but with faith, all things are possible.”

Before politics, sports played a big role in her development. A standout on her high school softball team, she earned a scholarship to Saint Anselm College and finished third on the team in home runs. She credits athletics with preparing her for political life.

“Discipline, hard work, teamwork…also competing against yourself to be the best that you can be in athletics, I think, has prepared me especially for this job now,” she said. “Every day is a new game in this job.”

But her journey wasn’t without detours. In 2022, she ran for Congress and lost in the general election. Still, she sees God’s hand in the outcome.

“God has a plan for everyone. I believe that firmly,” she said. “You just have to trust the process and trust that He’s working in your life, and stay grounded in your faith throughout the way.”

Today, she faces a hostile press corps and a media landscape she believes is more interested in political gain than truth. “Many people in the briefing room are trying out for their next big show,” she said. “The American public sent a strong message to the anti-Trump media that we don’t listen to you.”

When reporters like The New York Times’ Peter Baker accuse the White House of limiting press freedom, Leavitt is quick to correct the record. “That is utter fallacy,” she said. “We have expanded the pool to new voices, independent journalists, podcasters, social media content creators…The New York Times is still in the room.”

She also doesn’t shy away from the bigger picture — including what she calls “spiritual warfare” behind the scenes in American politics.

“I certainly believe in spiritual warfare,” Leavitt said. “I saw it firsthand, especially throughout the campaign trail with President Trump. There certainly were evil forces. And I think that the president was saved by the grace of God on July 13th in Butler, Pennsylvania. He’s in this moment for a reason.”

For Karoline Leavitt, the battle is real, but so is her faith. With prayer as her preparation and God as her guide, she continues to meet every challenge with confidence, clarity, and courage.
