The big aspect to watch out for this week is Mars in Aries, conjunct Uranus and square Pluto. Although the exact aspect has passed by now, it’s still in effect, so don’t get lazy with my warning: tempers will be sharp. Things left to simmer will boil over. Even if the exact degrees are obviously affecting anything big in your chart, you are surrounded by other human beings who may not be so fortunate, and who might just blow their stack at you. I’m going to keep warning you about it despite the fact that once an aspect leaves the exact degree, forecasters tend to lose sight of the fact that it’s still in play.

…which brings me to the subject of my Grade 10 electronics class.
I am not a stupid person, and normally I understand the need to play safe. And yet for some strange reason I totally forgot that, if you pick up the circuit board for a strobe light, even if it’s unplugged… you’re going to get a shock.. A big one.
Why were we making a strobe light in electronics class in grade 10? It was the ’70s. That’s my only defense. I’m sure that in the intervening years between me leaving high school and now, lawyers have sufficiently involved themselves in the process that grade 10 students are no longer exposed to this sort of thing.
Note to self: find out if they still have “shop class” in modern high schools.

So yeah, most of the first week of Electronics 10 class was loaded with warnings about electrical safety. Never handle a circuit board when it’s plugged in. Even if it isn’t plugged in a circuit board can still carry a charge in the capacitors. Capacitors are designed to hold a charge until a certain point, then release it. Yes, even if the circuit board isn’t plugged in.

Of course teenagers are mostly stupid creatures, who have little sense of their mortality… especially when you’re stuck in Electronics 10 class and you’re insanely bored because you’ve already finished your strobe light and out of 25 students there are only five girls and one of them is Karen Browne who actually talks to you and even thinks you’re kind of amusing (in a good way) and she comes in late and it’s a choice between her sitting next to you or Shawn S. who is a complete jerk and oh my God she’s wearing that sweater so I’d better make a space for her by moving my strobe light —
