It’s the classic pattern I’ve seen many times: Saturn changes Signs, and for a little while everyone is scared or relieved or worked up somehow for a while… but then your life doesn’t either explode or become Paradise and everyone forgets about it. Then after a while Saturn makes a transit to your birth chart and then it’s “holy cow, Saturn’s in _____!” This is why I think it’s useful to look at the transits of the slower planets in chunks of a few months at a time (or longer depending on the speed of the planet).
The biggest aspect Saturn forms between now and the end of 2015 is a square to Neptune (exact on November 26th), although it will be in effect for a couple of weeks on either side of the exact date. Saturn square Neptune is sort of like the classic “irresistible force meets immovable object” situation… except that it’s more like “common sense and practicality versus hopes and dreams and unrealism,” where hopes and dreams and unrealism are every bit as “real” as common sense and practicality. Things that should be permanent can and will be dissolved, and things that should float away in the breeze will fall to the ground with a thunk. The square happens at 7 degrees Sagittarius and Pisces, so those of you with important placements in your birth chart around 7 degrees of the Mutable Signs. This aspect becomes exact again in June 2016.
Also worth noting: between now and December 2017 (when Saturn becomes Capricorn’s problem) Saturn will be square the natal Uranus and Pluto of everyone born in the 1960s, and conjunct the natal Uranus of everyone born in 1981-1988, and conjunct the natal Pluto of everyone born November 1995 to January 2008. In most cases these will be difficult, challenging times, so feel free to discuss that, the hidden opportunities that come with those transits, and what you can do about it with an astrologer. And lucky you, I know a guy…
