meghan markle astrology matthew currieI admit it: I’m a bit worried about the upcoming Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Sure, they’re obviously in love, and I think they make a cute couple. No problem there. But no matter how good the security is at a Royal Wedding, there is no way to keep Saturn from crashing the party if it wants to, and I’m afraid that’s exactly what’s going to happen.

The happy couple has announced that they are engaged and that they will be getting married sometime this upcoming Spring. Personally, I am hoping that they can be persuaded to put it off until the summer. You see, Saturn enters Capricorn in December, and although Meghan Markle is a Leo (born August 4th 1981 at 4:46 AM., Los Angeles California), she has her Moon, Jupiter, and Saturn tightly packed in between 4 and 6 degrees Libra, with a square from her Mars at 11 degrees Cancer.

Transiting Saturn in the early degrees of Capricorn will not be doing her chart any favors. As you can see from the transits I posted above, as of mid-May, Saturn will be past the exact square to her Libra placements, but it will be approaching the square to her Midheaven and the opposition to her Mars.

This may not spell disaster for her marriage, per se. Anyone who has ever paid attention to these things knows that marrying into the British Royal Family is an incredible burden. Your life isn’t your own anymore. You are essentially marrying both another human being and a job for life. Yes, I know that marrying into royalty sounds like a Leo dream come true. Nonetheless, being a member of the world’s most visible family (yes, even more visible than the Kardashians) has to be an enormous drag.

There are those who would argue that getting married while Saturn is transiting your Seventh House sounds like a bad idea. I’m sure sometimes it is. However in this case there is a bit of an exception: since Capricorn is Meghan Seventh House (the “House of Marriage”), there is the argument to be made that having the ruler of the Seventh House passing through your Seventh House is more of a good thing that a bad thing. Also, let’s not overlook the fact that transiting Saturn will be trine her natal Venus, which ought to be good for strengthening love. Venus is also the ruler of her Libra stuff that is taking the hit early in 2018, and transiting Jupiter will probably be sextile her descendant when the wedding happens. The Descendant is in most cases the single most sensitive point in the birth chart when it comes to matters of marriage.

I guess what I’m saying here is this: marriage is often difficult, and transiting Saturn is often a disruptive influence. But no matter when one gets married, Saturn is going to be somewhere. So could someone out there please forward this information to the Royal Couple, and see if they can be persuaded to consult with him astrologer for the correct wedding date? Also, see if you can get me an invitation. I love weddings.
