Video games are fun, fast-paced, and feature competition between either two people or a person and the video game machine itself. These are all things that appeal to the Mars in a person’s birth chart. How your Mars functions is dependent on what kind of aspects it gets from the other planets in your birth chart. But the Sign placement of your Mars is also an important factor.
To illustrate how Mars in the birth chart works by Sign, lets hop into the time machine and go back and play some vintage video games at an old-school arcade. Bring all your quarters!
Aries: Berzerk
A fast and fun game which was a lot more interesting than you’d think from the simple graphics and simple goal: run around and shoot killer robots before they shoot you. Keep running and shooting until you get killed. Mars in Aries likes it straightforward like that.
Taurus: Burger Time
No, I didn’t pick this one because of the food theme. This game required less speed and more strategy. The goal was to assemble burgers by making your tiny chef run across the layers of buns, meat, lettuce, and so on, while being chased by condiments. Well, okay, I did kind of pick the “food” theme. Everyone loves a good cliché, right?
Gemini: Tron
Several games in one: a motorcycle racing game, something involving running away from cyber spiders, breaking down a wall by throwing a disc at it, and battle tanks. Complicated and required more than one skill set — kind of like when someone with Mars in Gemini has lost their temper with you. This, I assure you, is not an experience you want to have.
Cancer: Asteroids
You’d sit in the middle of the screen with your spaceship and shoot asteroids before they could hit hit you. Larger asteroids broke up into smaller ones, creating more of a hazard. You could hit the thrust button to move, but then you’d keep drifting and it made avoiding the asteroid fragments harder. And then sometimes a UFO would attack. Possibly the most fretful arcade game ever made.
Leo: Rampage
You had your choice of playing one of three monsters: a giant lizard, a giant ape, or a giant werewolf kind of thing. The object of the game was fairly simple but incredibly dramatic: climb and destroy buildings and eat people while fighting off the police and the military. This is the kind of ridiculous, over-the-top fun that gets Mars in Leo pumped. Also, sometimes when Mars in Leo loses its temper, you do need to call in the military.
Virgo: Tetris
You’ll need quick reflexes, but even more than that… you’ll need to think ahead. Various shapes and lengths of block fall, and you have to move and rotate them to complete a row. Once you complete one or more rows, they vanish and you score points. But if you don’t clear enough rows, and the blocks reach the top of the screen? Game over. Any Mars can lash out — but Mars in Virgo is also about precision.
NEXT TIME: Five more video games and one not-video game. What will it be?
