Here it is, the fateful week when Mars turns retrograde at 28 degrees Aries and re-traces its steps back to 15 degrees Aries. It then goes forward again in November, finally leaving Aries in January.
I will return to the usual format for the Mars in Aries report starting next week. This week though, I feel it’s important for everyone here to understand exactly how this will be affecting the most important places in your birth chart.

Have a look at your birth chart and find all the placements in the second half of any given Sign. By “important placements” I mean the Sun, Moon, planets, Ascendant, and Midheaven.
Here’s a handy list of how those placements are going to be affected, depending on the Sign they are in. Some of the news is good, some of the news is bad, and in some places it’s just weird. And remember — this only applies to the placements in second half of any given Sign in your chart. Placements in the first half? Well, they’re getting various good or bad effects from Uranus in Taurus… but that’s a story for another day.
Once you’ve done that, next time I do a Mars in Aries blog entry I will tell you what you can expect… based on your own experiences so far. it will be fun, it will be educational, and it may spare your sanity in the next few months!
ARIES
Alert level: Ouch!
These placements have already been kicked around plenty by Saturn and Pluto in the last couple of years. Mars is going to add additional bite to that.
TAURUS
Alert level: Mostly kind of okay… ish.
Saturn and Pluto are actually doing really constructive things for you, unlike a lot of other placements. again though, that warning about your Uranus passing through this Sign now…
GEMINI
Alert level: Not bad, not bad…
Mars in Aries will be giving these bits of your chart a nice, gentle, caffeinated push.
CANCER
Alert level: Oh nooooo!
Like Ares, these guys have been shoved around for the last couple of years by Saturn and Pluto. Now Mars is here to turn the screws a little tighter. Run and hide!
LEO
Alert level: Could be worse, I guess.
Go ahead and relax. Mars is doing generally good things for these parts of your chart.
VIRGO
Alert level: Mostly constructive.
while Saturn and Pluto have been blowing things up for other placements, yours in Virgo you should experience some genuinely constructive results.
LIBRA
Alert level: Arrrrgh!
Oh you poor thing. Saturn and Pluto square you guys for a couple of years now, and now Mars is opposite it. Good thing there’s more your chart than just these placements, isn’t it?
SCORPIO
Alert level: Generally useful
Mars isn’t doing you a whole lot of harm, and Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn have done these placements more good than harm recently. Congratulations!
SAGITTARIUS
Alert level: Giddyup!
Mars in Aries is going to be energizing these placements. Ride it while it lasts!
CAPRICORN
Alert level: Keep breathing!
Oh dear. Oh my. I always have the greatest of respect for placements in Capricorn. They’re so tough and durable.! And it looks like they’re going to have to be that way for a while yet…
AQUARIUS
Alert level: Okay-ish.
Overall, not much to worry about for these guys. Mars is offering a bit of a boost.
PISCES
Alert level: Hey, it’s all right, man.
If these placement works of darn sensitive the suffering of others, they would have had more opportunity to recognize the benefits they’re getting from Saturn and Pluto. What are the details of your chart and take advantage of it!
