Sacha Baron Cohen (born October 13th 1971, time unknown, London England) is a comedian — but not a typical stand-up telling jokes. He’s a chameleon who vanishes into roles and, rather than make jokes about the hypocrisy of others, he plays into their worldview until they expose themselves. In other words: he’s the comedic equivalent of a trap-door spider.

Even without a time of birth, we can see a number of possible factors that would make Cohen this way. A Sun-Uranus conjunction in Libra implies both the ability to understand others and to express himself in an unusual way, even by assuming a new identity. Moon in Leo would certainly enjoy playing dress-up for the amusement of others. And always look for the Mars in the birth chart of a comedian. Freud may have been way off with some of his theories, but I tend to agree with him that “humor” is a deflected form of “anger.” Cohen’s Mars is in Aquarius, and takes aspects from half the planets in his chart.
What is most telling to me though is his Jupiter-Neptune conjunction in Sagittarius. Although it might be an oversimplification to say simply that “Jupiter rules humor, and thus the conjunction to Neptune gives him the ability to vanish into a comedic character,” there you have it. That’s exactly what he does for a living.
His new film, a sequel to his hit movie Borat, releases on Amazon Prime this Friday. The original entered wide release in November 2006, and was a huge hit. Part of the reason why it has taken so long to make a sequel is that Borat (the character) has become instantly recognizable (although in between, he was able to create the hilarious Who Is America?. In the new film, Cohen takes on the unusual conceit of playing Borat, who must in turn play another character undercover. How meta is that?
So is Borat Subsequent Moviefilm going to be a big hit and get a lot of attention? It’s hard to say without a time of birth and without knowing the house placements and where the Midheaven is. But one thing I do know? This movie is going to get a lot of attention because of one particular prominent political figure who gets skewered in it, in a particularly embarrassing manner.
We don’t do politics here at Beliefnet, so I’ll just have to ask you all to go search today’s latest news stories that include the words “Borat” and “Rudy.” You’re welcome.
