(This is part of the Mars in Aries series I will be running throughout the rest of this year. Mars is going to spend a ridiculously long time in Aries, and the more prepared you are for it, the better. CLICK HERE for the introduction to this series.)

THIS WEEK: Mars covers the distance between about nineteen and a half degrees Aries to just under eighteen degrees Aries. Yes, that’s pretty slow and brutal. Pay close attention to what parts of your life get steamrolled, because we have the added bonus effect of a square to Jupiter in Capricorn.

(Wondering what the next few months hold in store for you? Write me with your date, time, and place of birth — and I’ll send you a free sneak preview!)

Mars square Jupiter usually indicates an excess of energy. Used properly, it can be brilliant. Used unwisely though? It can be edgy, irritable, and even explosive. And to be honest — have you taken a look at the state of much of the world right now? More “explosive” is not what we need. However, if you’re start an exercise routine or have a physical relationship going with someone? This aspect can be fantastic. You gotta have an outlet, you know.

When in doubt though? Rather than blow up at someone or something, try be rational. And when I say “try,” I mean “really, really try,” because this week Mercury is both retrograde and opposite Uranus in Taurus. Your brilliant ideas might not be so brilliant after all.

WHO WINS/WHO LOSES?: Any major planets or placements in your birth chart between 15 and 24 degrees of the Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius) will feel a distinct boost. Your Air Sign placements (Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius) at those degrees will receive a less obvious (but still real) shot of energy — although for Libra, it may not be that comfortable. Any major birth chart placements in or around those degrees of Cancer or Capricorn (or the first three degrees of the next Sign)? They’ll will be feeling some agitation — just like they have for a while now.

MOON ASPECTS: Overnight and into Tuesday morning (Eastern Time), The Moon in Sagittarius will be trine Mars. That aspect can help express Mars energy in a constructive manner. Too bad that at this time the Moon is square Neptune, and probably could use a Designated Driver.

Throughout the day on Thursday, Moon in Capricorn makes the square to Mars… and also conjuncts (in order) Jupiter, Pluto, and then Saturn. Whatever you plans for the day, try to minimize the hazard of getting your feelings hurt. Or of hurting someone else’s feelings. Or — heck, just stay at home and stay off the internet, just to be safe.

WHY THIS WEEK IS IMPORTANT: Mars returns to these degrees in the first week of December, so whatever Mars-fuelled action is happening in your birth chart now may well recur then. When Mars does return to this position, it’s likely to be more of a comfortable fit for you, as it will no longer be square Jupiter. However, at that time Pluto will be — nah. You have enough to worry about now. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.
