On Monday (at 4:29 AM Eastern time to be exact) there will be a Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse at 8° Gemini. Eclipses are always challenging to interpret. On the one hand, they are essentially a Full Moon, but a particularly pronounced one. A Full Moon can trigger a lot of intense and potentially unpleasant emotional responses.

(Wondering what the next few months hold in store for you? Write me with your date, time, and place of birth — and I’ll send you a free sneak preview!)

If you treat this Eclipse as a regular Full Moon, there are some other things going on you need to take into consideration. Venus in Scorpio is opposite Uranus in Taurus. This can make things highly unusual and unpredictable, especially when it comes to matters like romance, budget, and diet. And if you or someone around you is driven to make some bad decisions by that? Mercury sextile Saturn can help you (or them) find the solid intellectual insights required to make a bad decision really durable and seemingly well-reasoned.

On the other hand, an Eclipse leaves a mark in your birth chart that sits there and waits until other transits set things off. In general I would not be too concerned about that, except that in this case there are a lot of other transits going on that could be potential trouble. There is the ongoing square between Mars in Aries and Pluto and Jupiter in Capricorn, and the Pluto portion of that aspect will only be growing stronger in the days ahead.

Overall though, the general emotional effects of a Full Moon are done with by the following day. But pay attention to transits in the next few months that interact with 8° Gemini. They could trigger some serious surprises, good or bad, in whichever House of your birth chart that point lands. If at 8° Gemini forms a close, strong major aspect to a planet or important point in your birth chart? Double down on keeping an eye on the things that planet rules in the months ahead.

That seems straightforward yet complex, doesn’t it? So… panic, or don’t panic? Take the following easy quiz to find out!

THE “SHOULD YOU PANIC OVER THE LUNAR ECLIPSE IN GEMINI?” QUIZ!

Give yourself one point for each of the following questions you answer with “yes”:

1) Do you enjoy breaking down all of life’s (and astrology’s) many complexities into a few, oversimplified rules?

2) Do you like to panic?

Now add up your total.

0-1 POINTS: Don’t panic! Life is complicated. If there are hazards, it’s best to be aware of them but not let them ruin your life. Ask an astrologer for more details!
2 POINTS: You probably shouldn’t panic, but it seems like that’s what you were going to do anyway. Why not at least consult an astrologer to see if you should be worried, and if so, what about?
