You may have noticed that there was an awful lot of violence on the streets in 2020 in America. You may have also noticed a certain thing that happened on January 6th in Washington DC. So naturally everyone was concerned about things getting violent after the presidential inauguration. Fortunately, through a combination of level heads, fear of consequences, and a whole lot of national guard units on the streets in every American capital city, things turned out pretty peaceful.
…Except in Portland Oregon. What’s with you, Portland? What provoked some of your people to vandalize the federal ICE building and Democratic Party state headquarters?

Regardless of cultural or political reasons, there is a perfectly good astrological reason why Portland, of all places, has been a particularly protest-prone place in the last year.
If you take a deep dive into the astrology of the American cities that have been hit the hardest by protests on the street, you’ll notice that an awful lot of those places were founded in 1850 or 1851.
The city of Portland was incorporated on January 23, 1851. Even without an exact “time of birth” we can see that Portland is an Aquarius, with a Moon Jupiter conjunction in Libra. This is exactly the kind of combination you would expect from a city that is normally associated with things like having a caramel macchiato on a Tuesday evening while sitting in an LGBT bookstore, there to support your friend who’s doing an acoustic guitar set. Even though I’ve never actually been done there, that’s the kind of image Portland usually has.
However, even the mellowest of hipsters can occasionally undergo transits that cause more agitation than a few extra bong rips can handle. That’s exactly what Portland has been going through in the last year.
Portland Oregon is in the relatively unique position of having a Moon-Jupiter conjunction, which normally makes for generosity of spirit and good feelings, in a close opposition to a Uranus-Pluto conjunction. And all of that was agitated last year by the Saturn Pluto conjunction in Capricorn, and Pluto is still making plenty of trouble for those placements yet. Oh, and it doesn’t exactly help the Portland natal Mars is at 18 degrees Capricorn, still being jolted by transiting Pluto.
I don’t really want to play prophet of doom here or anything, but that Pluto square is only going to intensify over the next two or three years. That and transiting Saturn is currently conjunct Portland natal Sun. None of this sounds particularly good to me.
… and something tells me the Transiting Neptune square Portland’s Venus isn’t going to help much either.
So… maybe you should make that a half-caf caramel macchiato, Portland…?
