If you’ve been reading my blog much this year, you know that the big astrological aspect this year has been Saturn square Uranus. That’s the one thing that has been making the world such an argumentative and difficult place this year. It’s the main astrological reason why it seems none of us can get our act together, individually or collectively. And what’s more, in a time when we should be united in agreement, we are distanced from each other, and so many of our conversations have been in the form of angry, thoughtless social media shouting.

You may also know that the final exact hit of the Saturn-Uranus square happens on December 24th of this year. I wish I could tell you that it will all be over then, but it won’t be. First of all, the effects will linger into February. If your birth chart has any major placements between about five and twelve degrees of the Fixed Signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius), you have felt this aspect especially strongly on a personal level. Even if you don’t have any placements like that in your birth chart, you can certainly see the mess that’s going on in the world around you.

Although Saturn square Uranus won’t be exact again until 2043 (whew), it will be back in effect between mid-July and December of 2022, thanks to Saturn going retrograde. The effect will be strongest in late September and October, when the two planets come back to within about half a degree of the exact aspect.
