beliefnet matthew currie astrology godzillaLike many of you, I’ve recently had a lot of concern about Godzilla.

Wait, that didn’t come out right. Start again.

Many people are concerned about the Saturn-Pluto conjunction, and I’m specifically worried about how it’s going to affect Godzilla.

Sigh. One more time…

In astrology, there is a concept called “mundane astrology.” You already know that people have birth charts, but so do businesses, initiatives, and even fictional characters. I wouldn’t put too much stock in it saying much about that character’s personality the same way a birth chart does, but you can learn a lot about the material success of a movie from the date, time, and place of the premiere (although in the case of Godzilla, Sun conjunct Saturn in Scorpio square Moon and Mars in Aquarius does kinda fit, doesn’t it?).

I’ve written here before about the “birth chart” for Godzilla, and it shows how what could have been an obscure monster movie was set up for long-term, global success. But every birth chart faces difficult transits eventually, and I’m concerned about the effects of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction on Godzilla’s chart, and what it implies about the potential box-office success (or lack thereof) for this month’s release of Godzilla: King Of The Monsters.

The movie has its world premiere on May 18th at 7 PM in Hollywood, California. The transits at this time do not bode particularly well for Godzilla. The Saturn Pluto conjunction will be opposite of Godzilla’s Jupiter Uranus conjunction in the natal chart . That natal conjunction happens in the Second House, which rules “money.” Furthermore, there are no supportive aspects to Godzilla’s Midheaven, and transiting Uranus is square Godzilla’s Moon, which is the ruler of the Second House.

The same situation is in place on May 30th, when the movie has its wide release. Complicating things further is the fact that the Moon will be Void of Course for most of the day on May 30th.

But what is the real lesson here? Is it that movie producers should consult with astrologers before choosing a release date? Or is it that, like any person with an interest in astrology, I have a hard time being objective about myself and/or the things and people that mean the most to me?

Either way, maybe a reading is called for.
