Excited by all this primary action? Or in a state of meditative quiescence over the whole thing? I’ve always felt that not voting IS voting – for the way things are now, which is status quo, in which most of the populace. . . doesn’t vote.
But if you have the right intention to vote, you need to take the right action, right now. Oh those niggling rules. We’ve got to get it right to get our rights, alas.
If you plan to vote in the New York Democratic Primary on February 5th, you need to know that new registrants and anyone who needs to update to his/her voter registration (new address, name change, etc.) must mail a completed registration form no later than this Friday, January 11th.  You must be registered as a Democrat in order to vote in the Primary.  You can also use the registration form to change party affiliation, but unfortunately you will not be able to vote in the Primary (the deadline for those changing affiliation has passed).  You can download the form here:
