I found this series of videos on Heart Transplant recipients who retained memories from the late anonymous donors whose heart they carry.  The series starts with more emotional “homecoming” type stories but soon moves into some hard science that points to the heart being a major point of memory retention, and also that the heart is 5,000 times more electromagnetic than the brain.  As a result of this potency, the heart actually responds to stimuli before the brain has even finished processing it. Totally cosmic.
