Just yesterday, one of my star clients (you’re all stars, truly) ‘confessed’ that she’d had some very ripe bananas in the house, and so she ‘had’ to make banana bread. Whoa! “HAD TO?” Make “Banana Bread?” And then … eat it, of course.
As you can well imagine, this led to an amazingly rich (on many levels) and potassium filled conversation. We were able to discuss love of food; food and its relationship to family and so much more. (Thank you, dear client, for your courage! For being so open and honest and willing to ‘let go’ of the banana cake!)
On a practical level, we also wondered … what else might someone do with over ripe bananas???
My suggestion: toss (gracefully) overly ripe bananas into your freezer. Then, when you are whipping up your favorite smoothie recipe, you can use one of your icy bananas! Presto, magic, allakhazam – a delicious, nutritious way to start your day!
I promised my brilliant and beautiful client that I’d send her a smoothie recipe! Lo n’ behold, wouldn’t you know it! The universe provided big time.
Just this morning, Holly & Valerie from Beliefnet’s Fresh Living blog, posted the best breakfast smoothie ever and one of the ingredients is a banana.
So thanks to Fresh Living for their timely and scrumptious, calcium filled, healthy recipe!

Java Junkie Smoothie
Adam Lambert and Eggs (what a way to start the day!)
Spread the smooth word … NOT the icing!
