What are you ‘giving up’ for Lent? What are you ‘gaining’ from Lent?
I am so inspired by the emails that y’all are sending me; telling me what you are giving up and/or adding to your lives during Lent (the 40-day liturgical season that begins on Ash Wednesday and concludes at the Great Vigil of Easter)!
Some are giving up …
… SUGAR! most especially HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP! (gaining health)
… adding WALKING to their lives. (giving up being a couch potato)
… another is honoring herself by giving up “beating myself up for not living according to the rules, whims, and strictures of others-especially when it comes to what I should eat.” (gaining self-love)
Catholic or not, how might you use this period of time to explore the Yin and Yang of Lent and how you might live a healthier lifestyle and fully honor your body!
