The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence. ~ Norman Vincent Peale

Helloooooo Beloved TUSHKATEERS!!!  Happy end of July/ first week in August!

And speaking of August!!!! Segueing straight into the week 🙂 …

According to “Holiday Insights” (a most reliable and accurate site 🙂, the first week of August is – drum roll, please – “National Simplify Your Life Week.”

While a simplified life looks differently to each one of us, I am betting that the idea of simplifying one’s life resonates with most of us on a cellular level … in other words, it goes deep.  Yes?

If you’d like to happily breeze through life, and you’d like to see how simplifying your week (month, year, life) can help to make this happen, then please do join with us this week and let’s simplify!!!   Are you in?  Okay then …

… First thing we need to do is figure out what’s essential and what is not essential, which sounds easy as pie; doesn’t it?

For me, it means that I need to get rid of/let go of the many things I do, so that I can clear time to spend time with people I love and clear time to do the things that I love to do. (See: Photogenic Thoughts

Perhaps (I’m thinking aloud here – so feel free to weigh in and/or figure out your best way to determine ‘essential’), the most effective way to determine ‘essential’ is to bring awareness into the picture.  How about we carry around a little notebook, or piece of paper, and pen (or writing instrument of your choice), and as we move through our day, we simply make note of what we are doing and ask ourselves if it is essential?

OR – If that’s too much non-essential work, then just keep the concept in your mind, up front and center, and see what happens.

This week, let’s note the things that we get pulled into, that – in varying degrees – suck the life, energy and time right out of us – the non-essential things that we put up with, that we tolerate, that weigh us down (sometimes literally).

Example of a few things that I am guilty of that clearly fall into the ‘non-essential’ column:  Reading emails compulsively.  Watching reruns on Netflix for way too long periods of time.  Or even inviting people over for dinner (great fun!), but instead of cooking a simple meal, turning it into a three day cooking extravaganza (that turns ugly, way too much pressure, and I’m not a gourmet anyway).

Feel free to share your thoughts, your essentials and non-essentials with OLofWL and ME!   Write:  Simply Life in the subject line.
