Bitter? by Janice Taylor, Life/Wellness Coach, Weight Loss Artist

” …. what of people who can’t feel? Or talk about their feelings? Or manage their feelings in constructive ways? What of people who aren’t able to form close and strong relationships? And people who cannot find fulfillment in their lives, or those who have lost hope, who live in disappointment and bitterness and find in life no joy, no love? These, it seems to me, are the real disabilities.” ~ Fred Rogers

Good Day Tushkateers!!! (Sounds like a great morning TV show, doesn’t it?)  Goodness gracious … THAT would be fun.  A limousine picks me up in the early morning (5:00 am is okay with me).  A skim latte awaits, the morning paper  – in print, or on my iPad?  Okay, I’ll go modern – tablet it is.  I skim the headlines as I drink my skim, arriving 15 minutes later at the TV studio.  Hair, make-up, a 5 minute segment; back in the limo, a drive home! And that’s pretty much it for the day!  Did I forget to mention that I get paid enough?

What’s your fantasy?   AND what do you need to clear out of the way to manifest it???

Yes, indeed. If you are lugging around too much baggage, you’re not leaving much space for your dreams, fantasies, happy life experiences!   How much space does your unhappiness take up?  How heavy is your bitterness?

Which, interestingly enough, brings me to today’s Chewing the Fat email from Tushkateer, Pat M.

CHEWING THE FAT

Dear OLofWL ~ Last week at dinner with my family, all my buttons were pushed.  I won’t go into the nitty gritty of it; the story line.  Let’s just say that I felt rejected, misunderstood, and unappreciated.  Even though it was last week, I’m still feeling it this week.   AND … it has definitely influenced my food choices.  Not good, Our Lady … not good at all.  Any advice on how to practice “All Is Forgiven, Move on?”  ~ Pat M.

Dear Pat ~ The benefits of letting go of grudges and bitterness are profound, indeed.  By clearing your space, by letting go, you make way for compassion, kindness and peace.   By letting go, you are clearing the space for forgiveness.

How do you let go?  First you become aware of your feelings and when they rise to the surface, you acknowledge them, note them and then breathe them out.

Here is a simple breathing exercise:

Start with the out breath and repeat in your mind’s eye …
Breathe out bitterness, anger and resentment.
Breathe in love.  (Repeat 8 times)

Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it. ~ Harry Emerson Fosdick

In so doing, you will effectively release the control and power that the insensitive persons and/or disappointing situation had over you.  No longer victim to others, forgiveness is your new practice.

Love is your new practice. Practice it again and again until it is your automatic response.  And now …  you can easily and effortlessly utilize Our Lady’s mantra, “All is forgiven, move on.”  Hope that helps!  Let us know how it goes.  We are with you every inch of the weigh … 🙂  ~ OLofWL
