Yesterday, we celebrated my daughter and SIL’s 7th anniversary!  After we had a delightful Thai dinner, we made our way down the road to a Greek cafe for dessert–as in, coffee and cake!  Dum dum dum dummmmmm (for sound effects click)!!!!

My strategies to make it out of baklava heaven without busting a seam?

1.  TURN a DEAF EAR to CAKE:  When the cake called my name, I changed my name and tuned out!

2.  TASTY TIDBITS:  Much to everyone’s delight (yeah, right), I helped myself to a tasty tidbit from their serving.  One tasty tidbit per person; 3 bites.  I checked in with myself:  “Whose dessert is best?  Do I want to treat myself to another tasty tidbit?”

3.  With AWARENESS:  I savored the flavor of each tasty tidbit and with awareness decided to call it a day after just one more bite of what I considered the best.

4.  FORK DOWN:  After which, I put the fork down and pushed away from the table!
