Good Day Tushkateers,
How are you on this bird-chirping morning? I am (we are) in Tucson, celebrating my birthday. A week long celebration, which kicked into gear last weekend in Manhattan and has now migrated to the southwest along with the rest of the spring birds!
One of the most stunning and glorious aspects of being in Tucson are the birds! Yes, we have birds in NYC and they do chirp, but OMG not like this. This area is one of THE places that bird watchers from all corners of the globe travel to! Here (for those interested), check out the Tucson Audubon Society.
Listening to the birds chirp with your total being is a form of meditation. You can achieve “silence” with no effort. Each morning, I sit on the rocking chair in the front courtyard, make myself comfortable, relax and in my own time, I allow my eyes to close. It is my first step toward mindfulness and therefore mindful eating!
A slice of mindful eating includes taking one small bite at a time, taking the time to savor the flavor, and in so doing, because this is a more enjoyable experience than the “gulp and go” style of eating, you will eat less and the pounds will easily, effortlessly and silently melt away.
Here follows a guideline. 8 Steps to Easy Weight Loss: Thin!
Take the time to roll the food from the front of the tongue to the back of the tongue and from side to side in order to obtain every ounce of satisfaction and the ‘most mileage’ out of each morsel and bite that you take.
By doing this you will more readily satisfy the thousands of taste cells (9,000 more or less!) that are located all over your tongue and, as a result, less food will be required and your caloric intake will be immeasurably curtailed. The appetite control center in the hypothalamus will be sated!
- Take one small bite.
- Roll food from front of tongue to the back of the tongue.
- Roll food from side to side.
- Satisfy the taste buds.
- Less food required.
- Caloric intake curtailed.
- Slim down.
- Lighten up.
