OL of Breath II
Breathe, by Janice Taylor, Self-Help Artist.

If you are feeling drowsy, dozy, listless, and want to feel instantly energized, then try any one or more of the following “Energy Boosters” and see what could happen!

1. OXYGENATE YOUR BODY … i.e. BREATHE.  I know, I’ve said it before with regard to meditation, sleep, you name it … and I’m saying it again now.  Most people are breathing in a very shallow manner.  Ever see a baby breathe?  You will see that their stomach rises and falls with each breath.  They are filling their lungs with oxygen and oxygenating their body.  You cannot receive sufficient oxygen with shallow breaths; you must breathe deeply.

2. HYDRATE YOUR BODY … i.e. DRINK WATER.  We are mostly water.  Between 60% and 70% of our body weight is water; our brains are 75% water.  Imagine how dried up your thinking is without water?  Your skin?  Wrinkle city!!! Your intestinal track?  Can anything glide through it???  A deficiency of water can alter the concentration of electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, and chloride.  Water has a profound effect on brain function and energy levels!

They say that you should drink at least half your body weight in ounces of fresh water daily!  For instance, if you weigh 180 pounds, you require approximately 90 ounces of water (11 glasses); if you weigh 130 pounds, you require approximately 65 ounces of water (8 glasses).  Let’s all agree to increase the amount of water we are currently drinking.  I know that you think you’ll have to stop at every bathroom from here to Timbuktu, but not true.  Your body will adjust rather quickly and happily!

3. CLEAR YOUR CLUTTER … a.k.a. THE 15 MINUTE MIRACLE.  I am telling you that there is a correlation between physical clutter, mental clutter and body clutter.  Your messy, disorganized space is a mirror of your mind and it will drain your energy.  It will either consciously or unconsciously frazzle you!

Often we say we are going to clean up all in one day and we don’t, because it is overwhelming!  For many, taking 15 minutes to organize your day can add space, energy and simplicity to your life.  Set a timer and get going!  Throw stuff out!!  It’s exhilarating.

4. TAKE in THE SUN RAYS… YOUR SOLAR BATTERY IS ON LOW! According to a Harvard University study, taking in sunlight first thing will have a positive impact on the retina that leads to better focus and energy production in the brain.   If you live in an area that is not producing bright sunlight every morning, it might be a good idea to invest in a bright indoor light.

Or … make sure you sit near a window for 20 minutes during the day.  Take a 15 minute walk (Layer up if you have to – buy a -40 degree coat if you must; but get outside in the winter, too).

How will this help you to permanently remove those extra layer of fat???  If you are energized, feeling good, hydrated, smiling and taking in deep breaths of life, you will not gravitate towards food!

Food is a form of self-medication.  If you don’t need to be medicated, you don’t need food (in excess).
