The most sabotaging word in the English language – and therefore in the Battle of the Bulge – is the word TRY. The implicit possibility of failure is always there. You’ve left yourself a loophole and somewhere in the back – or the front – of your mind, you may hear a little voice saying, “You might not – you will not – do you really think you are going to – make it.”

There are other words and phrases that you can use instead of “try” that have a positive association to them. Eliminate the word ‘try’ from your vocabulary; and substitute the words –

Tune in to yourself.  The next time you hear yourself saying, ” I am going to try,” -or- “I am trying,” substitute one of the above words and notice how the meaning and feel of the whole sentence changes.
