Without leaps of imagination, or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all, is a form of planning.
~ Gloria Steinem
Hellloooooooooo Tushkateers!!!
How excited are you that it is Tuesday and you are receiving a Kick in the Tush from none other than the patron saint of permanent fat removal, Our Lady of Weight Loss? I know that I am! I was super-excited that she dragged me out of bed at 5:30 am (not!!!), just when I was deep into an amazing, awe-inspiring dream.
My Dream: The Dalai Lama and Joseph Campbell came to visit me (while sleep dreaming). Just as they were about to reveal the secrets of the universe, OLofWL hit me over the head with a Zen celery stick and said, “up n’ at ’em, girlfriend.” Then she snapped her fingers three times!!! My eyes popped open and I kicked into high gear.
The dream was a double dream. I was sleep-dreaming and the dream could easily be a dream come true — to sit with the Dalai Lama and Joseph Campbell, serve up a few bowls of steaming hot steel cup Oatmeal — and discuss creation. Of course, Joseph Cambell died in 1987, making my dream come true a tad more difficult, but hey, I believe in miracles, and time isn’t what we think it is, so you just never know.
While cruising (or is it surfing?) the Internet for ‘dream’ quotes, I came across Gloria Steinem’s (above). I especially loved it and was ignited by it because Gloria brilliantly made dreaming a part of planning. I believe that we must first ‘see’, have a ‘vision’ – a dream – for our compelling future, before we can move toward it. Even before clearing out the fridge and stocking it with the right stuff, stop for a moment and dream.
Dream, imagine … what it might be like if your health/weight problem were no longer a challenge … what could your world look like? Chew on that this week, and if you have any brilliant or even less than brilliant thoughts on the matter, let me know! Write me and be sure to put DREAM in the subject line, lest your post gets lost in the sauce! For sharing purposes, please limit your response to two (tops three) sentences!
