And who doesn’t? Personally, I snatch ’em up at the drug store for next to nuthin’ this week, open the wrapper and let them get nice and stale and snappy. Aged to perfection, I enjoy them slowly, like a fine single-malt.

So how could I not post about the Washington Post’s Third Annual “Peeps Show,” which features a contest of the best peeps-inspired dioramas. Check out the story here and above all the gallery with the top 40 entries, ranging from “Peeptanamo Bay” to “The Peeps of Wrath” to “Mary Peepins” and much, much more.

The overall winner was a brilliant Edward Hopper tribute, “NightPeeps,” by Melissa Harvey, shown below.

Not enough religiously-themed entries, I think. A Peeps Passover, but meh. Too sensitive a topic for the Peeps treatment? No way. I’m starting on my Peep Benedict XVI diorama for next year right now. if I don’t eat them all…

The graphic designer for WETA said she spent 45 hours over two weekends on the diorama. That’s not bad.
