Joseph and his coat of many colors is one of the most popular stories of the Bible. Thanks to the popular Broadway hit play based on Joseph’s story in Genesis, we feel like we really know Joseph. But it’s his two sons, Ephraim and Menashe who became the role models for good behavior through the ages. Genesis 48:20 is often called the Sabbath prayer. It’s become custom for Jewish fathers to place their hands on their children’s forehead and recite the ancient blessing for their children on the eve of the Sabbath. When scripture becomes part of regular worship, it fulfills its purpose. Bless your children with Geneiss 48:20 and bring tradition to life.
