031111_quakefires_20110311_111033.jpg200 to 300 bodies have been found in a northeastern coastal area where a massive earthquake spawned a ferocious 23 foot tsunami Friday. The waves swept away boats, cars and homes. A passenger train with an unspecified number of passengers remains unaccounted for today. 110 are confirmed dead. 350 people are missing. 544 people were injured. The death toll was likely to continue climbing.

The magnitude 8.9 quake was the largest in Japan’s history with many more than 6.0 in magnitude.

“God, again we pray for Japan. Bring comfort, protection, healing, and courage to the people in the North of the country. For those families who have lost loved ones, bring peace. Give wisdom to the leaders working to restore order.”
