“My Rabbi,” the blind man said, “I want to see!” Mark 10:51b

Blind Bartimaeus said something that is recorded only one other place in Scripture: he called Him, “MY Rabbi.” Mary said this in the garden as well (John 20), but she already had an established relationship with Him. Bartimaeus didn’t have the luxury of being one of Jesus’ intimate friends and followers. He was a blind beggar. Yet he considered Jesus his own. He felt like he belonged to Jesus. Jesus was His. An outcast but not an outsider, he was going for Jesus. Jesus was HIS guy!

Is He yours today? Is He the Lord or is He your Lord? He can be yours. He wants to be yours. Make Him so, Gentle Blog-Reader. Make Him so. The sweetest Friend and Teacher and Counselor you could ever want.

My Lord,

I belong to You and You belong to me. You have invited me into intimate fellowship with You. I want to accept that invitation and follow You closely. My Savior, you have made this possible for me. Thank you.

Amen
