Your towns and your fields
    will be blessed.
Your children and your crops
    will be blessed.
The offspring of your herds and flocks
    will be blessed.
Your fruit baskets and breadboards
    will be blessed.
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
    you will be blessed. (Deuteronomy 28: 1-6)

We attended a family reunion recently and ran into a cousin who had hit the proverbial wall. Nothing was working in her life. We talked for a while, I gave her a hug and told her I’d pray for her. God seriously reprimanded me as I was driving away. “What do you think prayer is, Jill?” I could hear the Spirit say, “Fairy dust that you sprinkle on people that creates some kind of a wave of good fortune in their lives?” “Oh, no, Father, I know it’s not like that. You are so right. I repent, Lord!” I promised Him I would never again say I’d pray for someone like I’m Tinker Bell scattering pixie dust! From here out I have instructions to let people know the full good news: God will bless them if  they decide to make a covenant with Him, giving Him their whole lives and receiving the life of Jesus for their own. Until one decides to serve Jesus, he/she won’t have the life Jesus can offer, no matter how much others pray! Once we give our sovereignty over to God, He can do something wonderful with it.

Father,

Thank you for your promises. I accept the terms and conditions of those promises! I will be careful to obey you! Until now my obedience has been slow and slack, but all that has changed as of today! I am determined to follow you whatever the cost. Forgive me for my disobedience. Take the reins of this life of mine and take me places I never dreamed of going. I will serve you wholeheartedly with

Your strong arm to guide me,

Your mind to advise me,

Your heart to encourage me,

Your angels to protect me,

Your power to deliver me,

Your riches to provide for me, 

Your song to inspire me,

Your wisdom to direct me,

Your strength to cheer me, 

Your Spirit to refresh me,

Your comfort to console me,

Your Word to transform me,

Your glory to transport me…
