O Lord, do good to those who are good,
whose hearts are in tune with you. (Psalm 125:4)
What if members of an orchestra determined their own pitch? Rather than tuning to Concert A, they use their own subjective tuning fork? What would that sound like? Just imagine. We live in a world where the individual is god, able to determine and develop their own philosophies for the standards of life. The problem with that, is that when tuned to our own subjectivity, we sound horrible together. God loves harmony. Let’s tune to Him.
Lord,
Teach me to tune my heart every morning to your perfect Concert A, the absolute tuning fork of Heaven. Tune my mind to your thoughts. Tune my soul to your emotions. Tune my heart to perfect rhythm. Tune my body to your design for health. Tune my tongue to your words. Tune my decisions to your wisdom. Tune my feet to run your course. Tune my song to continual praise. Tune my hands to good works. Tune my eyes to your point of view.
Let the music of my life be harmonious, enduring, moving to your heart, and pleasant to those around me.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen
“Tune my heart to sing your praise…
Teach me some melodious sonnet sung by flaming tongues above.”
