…The devil… was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
We all have voices in our heads, and often these voices are echoing lies that we believe and incorporate into our lives. Lies often become embedded into our minds through trauma. The lies worm their way into our minds and personality and become a part of us; but with the truth, coupled with the blood of Jesus, we can reject and conquer each lie we have adopted as part of our identity.
Today we will pray about the lie of abandonment. Perhaps you, like many around you, feel alone and lonely, believing that no one truly cares for you or understands you. You feel exposed, vulnerable and unprotected. Our prayer today will reflect the Word of God, the Truth that, when ingested through our hearts and confessed in faith, can transform us from fear to love.
Father,
I renounce the lie of abandonment. I break its grip and its power over my life with the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God.
I believe and declare the Truth that God has said He will never leave me nor forsake me.
I believe and declare the Truth that Jesus is always with me through the Holy Spirit, now and through my entire life and to the very end of the age.
I believe and declare the Truth that I am not alone. I am a vital part of the beautiful Body of Christ.
I believe and declare the Truth that if God is for me, no one can possibly stand against me. God has embraced me fully; it matters not what others may think of me.
I believe and declare the Truth that even if those who should love me most abandon me, God will never abandon me, and His love compensates for any deficit I may have.
I believe and declare that the Truth has set me free from all bondage to the spirit of abandonment.
I am accepted in the Beloved. With gratitude in my heart to You, Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, I celebrate the joy and inclusion I am experiencing today and will continue to experience throughout my life in ever-growing measure.
In Jesus’ Name
Amen
